I believe that it was a combination of all three (god, Glory, gold) that motivated the exploration of the Americas. Glory came first because once they figured out there was a completely different land mass someones got to own it. Gold because once said land mass was explored and valuable exports where discovered this only increased the sudden flow of Europeans. and finally god. i believe that there was some Manifest destiny involved in the annexing of the American country's.

Manifest destiny? I'm not too sure about that. I think they were just greedy and wanted the glory of taking over the "New World" themselves like you said earlier in the post.

I don't think manifest destiny would necessarily fall under the "god category" because it is a political philosophy that was thought up by American business men in the 19th century.

Yeah I am not too sure about the Manifest Destiny either. I believe that was the motivation for Americans to move into the Western part of the continent. But yeah I agree with you that all three motivations were blended together.
